Just a Mary Oliver kinda week. Love her.
Mindful
Every day
I see or hear
something
that more or lesskills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needlein the haystack
of light.
It was what I was born for –
to look, to listen,to lose myself
inside this soft world –
to instruct myself
over and overin joy,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional, the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant –
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab, the daily presentations.
Oh, good scholar,
I say to myself,
how can you helpbut grow wise
with such teachings
as these –
the untrimmable lightof the world,
the ocean’s shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?~ Mary Oliver ~
So beautiful.
With that, a handful of simple moments this week that mean the world.
After 2 months, I finally picked up Kaya’s art from the art studio which just so happened to match her new Angry Birds Space tshirt. In our house, Angry Birds + Space + Pink = Outta This World Awesomeness!

Bal to Brennyn “What do you think that cloud looks like B?”
“Mmmmm, probably…” pauses for dramatic effect,
“SCOOBY DOO!”

I found 2 sticky notes on the girls bedroom window that Kaya wrote. One says,
“To fendshep,
Love B and Kaya”
I don’t know what they were doing or why, but writing to friendship has to be a good thing!
The other says,
2012 We played baby. Seems she likes to document things much as her mommy does.

Ah yes, ‘it was what I was born for –
to look, to listen,
to lose myself
inside this soft world –
to instruct myself
over and over
in joy.’
